About Us
Our mission
E20 Compliant exists to answer one question millions of Indian vehicle owners are asking: is my car safe to run on E20 petrol?
When India mandated E20 fuel (20% ethanol-blended petrol) at all pumps from April 2026, vehicle owners were left with confusing and scattered information. Manufacturer websites, government notifications, and dealer advice often contradicted each other. We built this tool to cut through the noise and give you a clear, instant answer.
Who we are
We are an independent team of automotive and technology enthusiasts based in India. We have no affiliation with any vehicle manufacturer, oil marketing company, or government body. Our work is driven entirely by the goal of helping fellow vehicle owners make informed decisions about E20 fuel.
This is a community-driven, free-to-use project. We do not charge for access, and we do not sell user data.

Our data sources
E20 compliance information on this site is compiled from multiple authoritative sources:
- Government regulations: BS6 Phase 2 norms (April 2023 mandate) that require all new vehicles to be E20 compliant.
- Manufacturer announcements: Official press releases, owner manuals, and compatibility statements from brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Honda, and others.
- ARAI and ICAT certifications: Testing and certification data from the Automotive Research Association of India.
- Industry reports: Consumer surveys, expert analysis, and independent testing results.
While we strive for accuracy, compliance status may vary by specific variant, manufacturing date, and market region. Always consult your vehicle's owner manual or manufacturer for definitive information.
Why it matters
India's E20 mandate affects over 300 million registered vehicles. For owners of pre-2023 vehicles, using E20 fuel without knowing their car's compatibility could lead to mileage drops, fuel system wear, and costly repairs. For newer vehicle owners, understanding the minor trade-offs (like a small mileage reduction) helps set realistic expectations.
We believe every vehicle owner deserves free, easy access to this information, not buried in technical documents or behind paywalls.
